YOU WILL NEED:
Coffee filters (used filters that have been washed are fine)
Towel
Plastic sheet
Small jars or cups
Food colouring
2 to 4 eyedroppers
Pipe cleaners
Coloured beads
Fishing line
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Cover the table with the plastic sheet.
- Lay the filters out on the newspaper.
- Fill each jar with 50ml of water and add different food colouring to each one.
- Use separate eyedroppers for each colour and put a few drops onto the filter to make different patterns. If you want, let each colour dry before adding another.
- When dry, fold each filter like a fan.
- Bend a pipe cleaner in half, wrap it around the middle of the filter and twist together.
- To make the body, slip a bead down the pipe cleaner.
- To make the wings, spread the filter apart.
- To make the antennae, spread the ends of the pipe cleaner apart and twist a small coil.
- Tie some fishing line around the middle to hang in your bedroom.
